HUD (Head-Up Display)
Description
Show navigation-relevant information on your windshield.
Unlike most other HUD apps, this one does not require internet permissions, ensuring your privacy is completely protected.
This head up display (HUD) shows following information on your windshield:
- current speed (from GPS provider)
- next navigation turn (from your navigation app)
- destination ETA (from your navigation app)
- playing songs, when a song starts (from your favorite media player)
Step-by-step instructions:
- Ensure you use the latest version of your your navigation app
- Open your navigation app (preferably on Android Auto)
- Start the navigation to your destination
- Open HUD
- Place your phone under your windshield so that you can read the information correctly on your windshield
The displayed speed depends entirely on your device's capabilities.
To access the app's settings, long press the app's icon in the apps launcher or touch and hold the speed.
To avoid the double reflection on the windshield, you can either buy a HUD film to paste on the windshield or a phone support including its screen, like the Hudway Glass.
If your navigation app shows pop ups above HUD, long press this pop up to jump in their settings, and uncheck "Pop on screen". Also ensure that "Override Do Not Disturb" is unchecked.
Depending on your device, the maximum screen brightness set by the app may still not be sufficient for comfortable readability during daylight.
